We are talking to Wellington communities and finding out what matters most

The decisions we make about Wellington's electricity network over the coming years will affect nearly everyone in our region. We believe further investment is needed, but there are choices about what should be prioritised, how quickly work should happen and the balance between price and service. We want to understand what matters most to the people who rely on the network every day, before we finalise our plan.

We also know that different people will be affected in different ways. 

We're seeking feedback from households, businesses, iwi, community organisations, emergency services, infrastructure providers, local and central government, and other communities across the Wellington region. We're making a deliberate effort to hear a broad range of perspectives, including from people experiencing energy hardship, run businesses, are from culturally diverse communities and rural communities. 

By understanding what matters most to the people who rely on the network every day, we can ensure our plans for the future reflect the needs and priorities of the region.

Your feedback will help us test and refine our plans and understand whether we have the balance right. We will be hosting and participating in a range of community events. We are also running meetings, workshops, surveys so people can participate in a way that works for them. We're also working with organisations that are critical to Wellington and existing community networks to help us reach a broad range of voices and experiences. Our goal is to make the process accessible, transparent and easy to participate in.
