Wellington Electricity provides electricity distribution services to electricity retailers (traders) on its network through a Default Distributor Agreement (DDA).
Our DDA has been prepared in accordance with the DDA template regulated by the Electricity Authority and applies to new and existing traders.
For compliance with the requirements of the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 and its Distributor Agreement Amendments of 2024, there are currently two versions of our DDA:
- The DDA for current traders with existing agreements, which came into effect on 25 November 2024.
- The DDA (alternative agreement) for new traders, which comes into effect on the Commencement Date.
Wellington Electricity expects to amend its DDA further over the course of 2025/2026, including to adopt amended operational terms.
Retailers wishing to trade on our network should complete our online form or email [email protected] to find out more about the application process.
In limited circumstances, Wellington Electricity provides distribution services directly to large consumers or those with unusual operational or commercial circumstances. For more information, please contact us via the above email address.
