Following a three-month transition period, Wellington Electricity is pleased to confirm that Omexom will take over maintenance and fault response services on its network next week, commencing Tuesday 1 April.
Wellington Electricity CEO Greg Skelton said both organisations had been working together to ensure every aspect of their systems and processes were aligned for a seamless transition of services come 1 April.
“It’s been a busy three months for staff on both sides, as we’ve worked to facilitate a transition with minimal disruption to employees and customers, while maintaining our usual high levels of service across the network,” said Skelton.
“Omexom brings a wealth of international infrastructure experience and a strong focus on innovation, which positions them well to address the unique challenges of the Wellington region. We’re excited at the value they’ll deliver to both the network and our customers.”
Omexom was selected as Wellington Electricity’s new field service provider last year following an extensive procurement process.
Skelton said the objective of the procurement process was to ensure Wellington Electricity continues to provide value for money for its customers, along with the safe and efficient delivery of services throughout the Wellington region.
